Resolut Secures Full Dismissal in High-Value Cross-Border Proceedings

Significant win for the Resolut team acting as lead counsel in a complex cross-border corporate dispute involving a major oil trading group
Law news

The proceedings originated over four years ago with a winding-up petition against a Cyprus company. Following our appointment as lead counsel approximately 18 months ago, the case strategy was comprehensively restructured, and the proceedings were significantly accelerated, ultimately leading the Cyprus court to dismiss the petition in full — a decisive outcome in a high-stakes shareholder conflict.

The claims, grounded in allegations of minority shareholder oppression, were firmly rejected. The Court upheld our key submissions and ordered the opponent to bear the full costs of the proceedings.

This judgment represents an important milestone in the broader context of parallel cross-border proceedings.

The matter was led by Resolut, working closely with our Cyprus partners — Eraklis N. Kyriakides LLC N. Kyriakides L.L.C. (https://www.erallc.co) and Costas Tsirides & Co LLC (https://www.tsirides.com) — whose strong local expertise and advocacy were instrumental to the successful outcome.

We thank our partners for the excellent cooperation and congratulate our Client on this result!
