In September 2026, Resolut held two private events – an evening Business Club session and a panel discussion as part of the Russian International Arbitration Congress (RIAC 2026).
The session focused on protecting the international assets of Russian companies in four areas: Eurobonds and securities, sanctions, and virtual and actual accounts receivable. The discussion examined real-world court cases – ranging from the Belgian Council of State’s decisions to unfreeze Euroclear assets to Russian case law on the recovery of frozen income from securities.
The audience engaged most actively in discussions on two points: the depth of analysis regarding securities and sanctions – several guests noted that this was their first time learning about these areas specifically from Resolut – and the absurdity of some of the situations discussed, such as Euroclear’s bankruptcy and the lawsuit against Poland. Attempts were made to speculate on the logic behind these moves, which sparked a brief but heated discussion.
The panel brought together Resolut partners, representatives of major Russian businesses – Artem Volodyaev (EN+ Holding) and Anton Vasin (EuroChem) – and Shantanu Majumdar KC FCIArb (Radcliffe Chambers, London). The discussion examined investment arbitration as a management decision: when it makes business sense, when it is a costly mistake, and what determines the outcome.
The panel covered the anatomy of the decision-making process inside companies, the map of available routes – local courts, commercial arbitration, investment arbitration – and the economics of a dispute from day one.
We would like to thank our team, our speakers, and all our guests for making these events informative and valuable.
